Qatar Airways upgrades services to France and begins flights to Seychelles

As part of its summer schedule Qatar Airways raised its services to a daily flight to France’s capital. This adds two extra weekly frequencies, on a Tuesday and Saturday, to it’s five times per week schedule.
"The Paris route is extremely popular with our passengers, and demand requested an increase in our regular services," Qatar Airways’ Chief Executive Officer Mr. Akbar Al Baker announced. "The additional services will also allow easier connections to our route network via Paris, for travellers going through Paris and Doha to our destinations in the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent or the Far East. Apart from being a bustling business hub, Paris is very popular with tourists from the Middle East and the Far East transferring through Doha International Airport, and it offers connections to other destinations in Europe and the Americas", Mr Al Baker concluded.
Qatar Airways also announced flights to Seychelles starting December 1, 2004. The airline intends to launch four flights

a week during one of the busiest periods for holidays to the idyllic islands. The announcement comes as Qatar Airways gears up for an exciting few months with the launch of new routes, including Johannesburg and Osaka.
"Qatar Airways is keen on establishing a route network that is as diverse in its selection of destinations as possible, to give our customers greater freedom of choice when selecting holiday getaways," said Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Akbar Al Baker.
"With the addition of direct flights to the Seychelles, we are certain that we will continue on this successful path to maintain our reputation as the fastest growing airline in the world," added Al Baker.
Qatar Airways will be flying to the Seychelles four times per week. Flight QR700 will leave Doha at 08:30 hrs on Tuesdays and Saturdays, arriving in the Seychelles at 14:30 hrs local time, and flight QR702 will leave Doha at 21:45 hrs on Wednesdays and Sundays,

arriving in the Seychelles at 03:45 hrs local time. Return flight QR701 leaves the Seychelles on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 20:15 hrs, arriving at Doha International Airport at 00:20 hrs local time, and flight QR703 leaves the Seychelles at 07:45 hrs on Wednesdays and Sundays, arriving in Doha at 11:50 hrs local time.

Dnata signs agreement to buy major stake in Singapore airport ground handler

Dnata, the airport and air travel services division of the Emirates Group, announced signing of an agreement to buy a 78.4 per cent stake in Changi International Airport Services (CIAS) from Temasek Holdings, an Asia investment company headquartered in Singapore. This move is

in tandem with Dnata’s steady expansion of its operations overseas, with the company already exporting its ground handling expertise to airports in Qatar, Pakistan, Iran and the Philippines.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman of the Emirates Group said, "We believe this is an excellent investment for Dnata. CIAS is a company with a solid reputation and superb potential, with experienced and well trained staff. There are many synergies between Dnata and CIAS, and we look forward to helping to maintain Changi International Airport’s role as a major global hub."
CIAS is one of the two ground handling service providers currently operating

at Singapore’s Changi Airport. The sale represents Temasek’s entire stake in CIAS, with the remaining 21.6 per cent stake held by five other shareholders.
Ms Margaret Liu, Temasek’s Managing Director for Strategic Development Global Investments said, "We are pleased that Dnata has emerged as the successful bidder in this sale. With its strong and established presence in the ground handling, in-flight catering and airport-related service industry in the Middle East, we are confident that Dnata is well-poised to take CIAS to its next level of growth. We look forward to seeing the continued success of CIAS under the Emirates Group in Singapore."
